What is the Call to Action?

A Call-to-Action, or CTA, is any textual or visual prompt that leads a website visitor to take action. In other words, it is an essential tool to promote your Digital Marketing offers and generate Leads.

An effective CTA will lead the user to perform what we know as “conversion”. These conversions are of enormous value to you, as they can be a sale, leave their contact email, consume content or subscribe to your newsletter. A CTA that is convincing will help us achieve our goals.

The 7 types of Call to Action

What is a Call to Action

We know you’re wondering: how can you make an effective Call to Action? Well, before answering that question, you should know the different CTA strategies that exist, and know how they are applied.

The lead generator

The purpose of this is to obtain the contact details of the users who visit our website. They will leave us their email, or telephone, when they are interested in us contacting them, or if we offer them something of value.

For example? We could tell them that in exchange for leaving us their email, or their phone number, they will get an ebook. This is very effective, for example, to get students for an online course.

Form submission

Thanks to this Call to Action we will be able to collect information of interest to our client. And we will achieve all this thanks to the sending of forms. Simply tell the client something like “Want to contact us? Fill out this form and we’ll get back to you shortly”.

Discover services or products

A strategy through which we teach information to the customer that captures their attention. However, the information is not complete, and we invite you to find out more by either signing up for our newsletter or submitting your information through a contact form.

Share content on social networks

One of the simplest types of Call to Action, in which we invite our users to share the content they refer to on social networks. Of course, for this strategy to work it has to be placed intelligently and, of course, with sense. For example, in landing pages or posts.

A gift

It is possible that there are some leads that resist you, because they are not yet ready to surrender to our services. What can we do in this case? Well, offer them something else that captures their attention and makes them fall into our network.

An example? It can be a gift, such as access to a guide, request an analysis in networks, prepare a budget at no cost…

Close the deal

Another very effective Call to Action, and totally focused on the sale. It serves to attract customers who are highly committed to your product or service. What can you use?

Well, something like “We’ll call you in 24 hours” or “Get in touch with us through the form we have on our website“.

Event promotion

As the name suggests, this strategy can only be used if you are organizing an event, either online or in-person, with the sole purpose of getting people to sign up.

Where could you place it? Experts recommend placing it on the sidebar or on the login pages, but you can always innovate a bit when it comes to attracting the attention of users.

Calls to Action must be used carefully

excessive calls to action

A piece of information that interests you, and you should always keep it in mind; before resorting to any CTA strategy, establish some very clear objectives.

With that in mind, you can choose which one you are most interested in using and thus achieve the best results. And don’t forget, a Call to Action is not an advertisement. They are small marketing machines that have an impact on our benefit. You can use several at the same time, alternate them or it may be enough for your business to resort to only one of them.

If you use them well, be sure that you will end up converting the users who visit your website into potential customers.
